For quantum-safe encryption, JP Kusumi releases GreenfieldPQC for .NET

SPLIT, Croatia, Aug. 22, 2025 /PRNewswire/ -- At a time when IT departments are scrambling to add quantum resistance to their apps, software pioneer JP Kusumi has released GreenfieldPQC, a free and open source NuGet package, to empower .NET developers to "future-proof" their code with post-quantum cryptography (PQC) tools. This timely innovation addresses the "Y2Q" imperative, where delays could expose sensitive data to future quantum attacks via algorithms like Shor's and Grover's.

GreenfieldPQC, released in July 2025 under the MIT License, integrates NIST's newly finalized standards, including FIPS 203 (CRYSTALS-Kyber for key encapsulation), and FIPS 204 (CRYSTALS-Dilithium for digital signatures). Filling a critical gap in symmetric cryptography left unstandardized by NIST, the library introduces Kusumi512, a novel 512-bit stream cipher that, in benchmarks, outperforms Threefish-512 in speed and memory efficiency. An AEAD variant, Kusumi512Poly1305, pairs it with Poly1305 for authenticated encryption.

"With quantum breakthroughs accelerating, such as Google's 2025 progress, organizations must act now to future-proof their systems," said Kusumi, Principal Consultant at JP Kusumi. "GreenfieldPQC provides a simple, multi-platform API to bridge the PQC readiness lag in the .NET ecosystem, helping prevent a potential crisis."

Kusumi's 30-year career spans quantitative analytics and software development, from automating processes as a marketing analyst to delivering consulting services across sectors. Relocating to Europe 11 years ago broadened his global perspective, positioning him to innovate in emerging fields like PQC.

As corporate IT teams race to remediate vulnerabilities—mirroring Y2K efforts—GreenfieldPQC offers quantum-resistant primitives for greenfield projects, including SHA256/512 hashing and larger key sizes. Wrapping liboqs for the asymmetric primitives, it's accessible for fortifying financial transactions, communications, and more.

This release could elevate Kusumi's profile while aiding developers and corporations transitioning to a "new normal" in encryption. Available now on NuGet (https://www.nuget.org/packages/GreenfieldPQC) and GitHub (https://github.com/JPKusumi/GreenfieldPQC).
